Welcome to OnDesign, the centralised resource for healthcare design professionals.
OnDesign is a visually-led repository of information that aims to assist the creative and functional design process in healthcare design, and to encourage networking and the sharing of knowledge and best practice between healthcare design schemes.
OnDesign caters for all stages of a scheme from conception to post-project evaluation; it covers all building types from the smallest GP surgery to major acute hospitals; and includes all individuals associated with a scheme, from architects through to patient user group.

LinkDesign competition brings in ‘excellent’ entries
Lewisham PCT’s new centre for young people’s health and social care services is due to open its doors in 2006. The PCT held a design competition, with the aid of CABE, to invite high-quality schemes.

LinkIntegrated treatment is facilitated by building design
Leicester City PCT has commissioned a new Health & Social Care Centre to integrate seven distinct services in healthcare and social and mental health services. The building design is deep-plan to ease connections between health and social care professionals.

The OnDesign site section will evolve and expand as further contributions are made. We welcome your suggestions for new schemes and topics to feature on these pages. If you are currently involved with a scheme that represents excellence in an aspect of healthcare design, please contact the Centre for Healthcare Architecture and Design to be considered for inclusion.
